Scene of Okanagan Lake with text Goodbye and Thank you overlay

Dear Friends, Colleagues, Clients and Former Clients,

This notice is announcing I am closing my practice as psychotherapist and art therapist officially at the end of this month, on September 30, 2024.

Since my move to Kelowna I have been contemplating some major life changes and some of you, particularly if you have been a client in the last 4 months, may already know of this news.

I am retiring and looking forward to a simpler life, enjoying quality time with my family, especially now as a grandmother. Art of course will remain a passion and I will continue my focus on it as an artist.

Please note, I will continue to have a presence online, advocating for art and wellness, and until further notice, this will remain my email address.

It has been a pleasure, and now as I say goodbye to you in this role and profession,

I also sincerely thank each of you who receive this notice, for your support of my practice. I especially want to thank those of you who entrusted me and my services for your art therapy and psychotherapy.

Warmly,
Laura David Foster, MPS, CCC, RCAT

Art Therapy

Art therapy is similar to other psychotherapeutic approaches except that art is central in the therapeutic process. It does not require any previous experience in art. Imagery, colour, and art processes are integral to allowing for creative expression of thoughts and feelings. Art therapy is a means to activate the source of creativity that encompasses all human beings. It is beneficial to people of all ages for self-expression, awareness, personal growth, and healing.

As your art therapist, Laura David Foster facilitates artistic expression to connect with issues that are difficult to verbalize such as grief, anxiety, and depression.
With creative art as the main process, she helps clients work through psychological, interpersonal and spiritual issues. Laura guides clients to create their way to better health in all dimensions of wellness.
